What a wonderful Mother's Day weekend we have had! Friday night we joined the family at Elmwood Park Pavilion for Steve G.'s graduation party. Scott and Katie were in town and it was an absolutely beautiful evening to chat, and congratulate Steve.
Saturday was truly perfect, 78 and sunny! I enjoyed lunch with friends on a patio--bring on the sun--and then met your Dad to buy plants and flowers for the yard. We picked Mitch up at 8:30 and surprised him by actually being in the airport upon arrival. (lately I have been texting from 4 miles away "we are parking and will be right in"). I cannot believe his freshman year is over and it is so great to have him home again!
Yesterday the yard looked like this...
And today--literally looks like a snowfall-- all blossoms! Your Dad went right out and bought a leaf blower--I didn't think I would ever allow it but I must admit it did the job!
Your Dad and I walked Heidi at Elmwood for an hour and tried to give Mitchell a quiet house to catch up on some sleep. He was out until 1 am but stayed up until 4 am out of "finals" habit. We had a little brunch on the deck of leek/spinach/mushroom quiche and it was our first meal outdoors this summer--yes!
Emily's card to me :) I love it--(no favorites though ---and they know it )
The flowers are actually budding directly from the branch not from the tips of branches.
Standing watch over the "matching" reflection pool.
Very cute!--His T-shirt matches his own mane and beard! Luckily he asked me for a haircut appointment asap.
Every Monday in June I will be taking an oil painting lesson in the Laurtizen Gardens and I am really excited about that. I'll wear something different I think :) just in case we start at the spotted installation.
Diane joined us for grilled kebobs --again on the deck --and it was a perfect evening. What a beautiful day! I missed Joe Em and Nick but we all caught up on the phone----love you guys!!
