Me.isms: Rock Solid

Friendship is a settling thing.
A force so strong and solid it grounds us --carrying us buoyantly through the good stuff with laughs, the new stuff with courage, and the tough stuff with empathy.
My friend Kate* (*Kate and I are friends--the Burkes and Nohners are a unit) is moving to Phoenix next weekend and we celebrated last night on the 3rd floor at Mark's in Dundee with the Langdons, Passarellis, Arkfelds, and Michaela and John. What a beautiful and fun night!

Today I am reminded that friendship is in my soul and not bounded by geography and the journey we have had will continue in a new way-already looking at flights and planning weekends in Phoenix and thank goodness Skype and FaceTime have recently been invented, just for us!

Nonetheless, friends develop a language based on a history of shared experiences and common ground. A word can bring a memory which brings a laugh, a gasp or a nod.
Here are some of ours:
