Red All Day

This will be short and sweet. Kevin thought he worked in the clinic yesterday but didn't. Its surprising how that can suddenly feel like a "free" day.  When he said "would you like to go to Nebraska City?"-I was in!   (He had heard me earlier this week talking about Applefest and the 30,000 people expected next weekend)

We took care of a few things and started out at 1:00 ish with a salad lunch on Mark's patio.

It was still well below 60 (OK--maybe it was 58 with a breeze) so I was happy they offered blankest for the patio.

Lots of fun reflection going on (unintended metaphor there)

I am wearing my first ever Minnetonka moccasins. I love them and they are my new game day shoes since I notoriously never have red to wear on game days.  Although, judging by the amount of red shirts seen throughout the remainder of our day, I don't think shoes quite fits the bill.

I love the drive to Nebraska City (except when following the local police) because with the corn fields showing their golden drying stalks, they reveal a fall that the city has yet to see.

Today was a trip down memory lane, revisiting cherished and sacred spots.  The rest of this blog is a few  pics of the day, including two wedding sightings at spaces I considered for Joe's reception. (They were as beautiful as I thought (but required reserving 30 guest rooms at the Lied!)

We not only walked the mansion grounds but also the "back" grounds that they have developed to take the guests from the Lied Lodge to the two wedding venues…including a walk in the woods and a few wooden bridges all lit with lanterns for their safety later tonight. The "Tree Adventure" is fabulous for kids and a recommended day trip for certain. Tree Adventure

They also offer U-pick Apples, if you stop at Tree Adventure and prepay for a bag or a box you can walk into the orchard and pick your own. That is a fun addition that we never experienced.

A photo op after the wedding. The second wedding party was later seen wine tasting at Kimmel Orchard who happened to have a free band and apple cinnamon donuts as well.  I thought of my guys and how happy those donuts would make groomsmen  :D

This had inspiring quotes about nature in our lives. They had a "tree" project like some cities had cows a few years ago.

Until next time…………….! Now its time for the 9:30 Husker Game
