Baby Love

Last Saturday my sisters and Nicki, Torrey, Emily hosted a baby shower for Christin. The baby (sex unknown!) is due in mid-September.

Here is Christin on Easter weekend (their moving day)

And here she is today-looking sweet and starting third trimester!  Way to go with the yoga on stand-up paddle boards and jogging Christin   :D

Emily suggested a "story book" theme. Guests bought a book as their "card" and hopefully, signed them for baby Nohner.

We chose food and books to match which made decorating the buffet a snap. Kathy and Diane manned the food committee and Torrey crafted 2 welcome drinks based on homemade lemonade (peach and lavender). She had non-alcoholic versions as well.

Love the girls in our life

Kate and Peggy stayed as long as they could! Kate was moving her Dad to a new place and Peggy had a wedding at 2. She ended up at the wrong church....Dean found her and she was rerouted :D

Looking sweet!

Waking up--she loved the little girls!

One Fish Two Fish

Kathy and Diane made this party favor sweet with little gift bags and of course, the Mouse
"Bye Bye-it was fun. Here's a cookie to eat on the run"

A nice way to build a library

I painted this retro goose (swan?) as a little reading chair for baby.
Emily found banners at at "Handmade Omaha"  sewn from pages of children's books

Diane's pasta-I can't believe I don't have a picture of Diane and Kathy--super hostesses!

Ready for gifts-with lots of helpers

Getting excited about the chaos

And the balloons

So very special to have Ruby Nicki and Christin all in town together with us

Nicki, Ruby and Molly set up her burp cloth craft-we cut out stencils on adorable fabric and ironed them on

Getting direction!

Adorable!

Christin packed a very large suitcase and only had to leave the Goose behind. At 58# they switched  a few pounds to her carry on and she got in under the 51# limit!

After Christin left us, we headed out to the last Junkstock at the Old Dairy farm site. (it'll be back next year at a new location).

It was hot but we had fun searching through old and new "shabby chic". It felt like something Christin would not have enjoyed anyway, but we missed her!

Captivated by her hand stamp

I said "move closer and act like you like each other" thus the expressions!

Every once in a while I would spray above her and it would sprinkle down--she just stood and waited, with that smile :D

And then she took her turn-"Ruby turn"

Such a sweet girl

Now the good part!

We all cooled off!

Sunday night we had a big Greek salad at Mitch and Torrey's--Mitch leaves for 3 weeks in St. Paul, NE tomorrow!
Ruby warmed up to Grandpa with the little hand puppets and later sat on his lap, making his day!

WHAT A WEEKEND!
Thanks to all and Good Luck to Joe and Christin!
