Kaneko
Last night we attended a lecture and concert by Roseanne Cash and Dr. Daniel Levitin at The Kaneko. It was a brilliant evening with Roseanne sharing stories about how her brain surgery affected her ability to write, perform and experience music. Following the surgery she had to retrain herself to play guitar and even walk up stairs. The last thing she said to her surgeon was "don't steal any songs while you're in there". Dr. Levitin conducted an informal intimate conversation with her on stage and then they played a few songs together. They both have written books recently and I plan on getting hers ("Composed") in the very near future. She read from her book and she is a wonderful writer. As Mitchell noted, I have never been a fan of her music, but after hearing several lyrics and hearing her read, I am a fan of her writing.
Prior to the lecture/concert, we enjoyed wine, edamame, cheese and almonds on the patio at Urban Winery with Kate & Peggy. A perfect evening in the Old Market!
