Sharon and St Bens

Last weekend we arrived at the St. Ben's campus and stayed at the Benedictine "Guest House". Coincidentally, the Guest House is managed by Rita's aunt, Sr. Rita, and she was delightful to us and so welcoming. There is art throughout the first floor (and actually campus-wide) by Sr. Thomas Carey--I also loved a book of her collected works that is kept at the house.    She must have made hundreds of Madonnas and Madonna with child in her career as the Art Dept. Chair.

Jeff, Rita, Matt and Grace arrived at nearly the same time.  Shirley was also there to greet us and we headed over to the dining space for a private dinner that Sharon had prepared. Julie Amy and kids joined us. Johnny is now officially taller than me, however Luke is not yet as tall as Johnny. (you can see him trying to stretch!)

Sharon greeted us wearing this apron and it was so funny when she came around the corner in it--
"So I'm not Betty Crocker, deal with it!"

However, dinner was wonderful and she had such a great thought in having us stay at St. Ben's rather than head out to a restaurant.  Within moments of saying hello to us, Kayleen lost her front tooth, with more than a little help from Jazzmine.

Saturday morning at 8 am Jazzmine played in a ball game at St. Ben's--so we got to see her and the team play. Jazz is all over the court and is a great player with a lot of team spirit.

Afterward, Sharon gave us a tour of her new digs in Campus Ministry. It is a beautiful space with warm "Pottery Barn" colors and very inviting and spiritual at the same time.  I LOVED her cookie jar, and a few of her favorite angels are out as well.  She is enjoying her new position but admits its a very busy schedule. I am sure the students love her  :D
