JUNKSTOCK

I am literally out of words to tell you how much I loved Junkstock.

I think because it is outdoors, in a field, with hundreds of vendors and all antiques, collectibles, shabby chic (or wanting very much to be loved into shabby chic) stuff for sale.  Lots of multi-paned windows, beautiful doors and old screens -paint vendors to show you how to transform them into frames and backdrops and headboards, etc.

Despite 5 inches of rain Friday night and folks getting stuck in the mud Saturday, today was beautiful. There was live music and a festive atmosphere. Unlike Brownsville's "Worlds Largest Flea Market" which is true junk, this is the real stuff-all of it adorable and usable as unique additions to a home. Well, almost all of it!
Beth and myself-excited to explore and ready to shop

Once you got in it was like avenues of vendors--and they had "Junk Hunks" to help carry heavy items out to the cars.

I just want to stay here--this is a 1970's album cover, right?  Rita Coolidge must be nearby…

Close-up of paint technique I want to use on Bernice's desk in my kitchen

Not too shabby but very chic!

There's something about blue refinished furniture!

Using classic pedestal but adding reclaimed wood boards waxed to a warm old tone on top  for larger, modern vibe--brilliant!

Garden lighting

Sample of a window conservatory

If Nick lived closer-I would paint this for a children's book table--too adorable!

If Emily lived closer, she'd have withdrawn $5,000 and collected a truckful for her new business venture-it was hard not to start here!

This barn was the bomb-everything in it was perfect..At the entrance (look low by the 2 girls)  is a table made of a white spindles ? (fencing?) (railing?)  on top of a cart with casters and then topped with glass as a low table-awesome!

Ran into Maddy and Tancy :D

And Maddy bought all of these letters to make a sign for her "garden" which is the size of a farm!!

Ran into Annie Townley (Joe and Karla's daughter)

Townley sisters--check out that huge birdcage behind them!
Symbol of Junkstock

It was just a creative dream--taking it all in and loving it all. Most of us have very little use for much of it--but an occasional piece here and there is a lot of fun. Especially at cabins or bathrooms or weddings or gardens or nurseries :D

This must be what the Super Bowl feels like to the men in my house! Super pumped!
