Life is good…and so easy in the Summer!

Summertime rocks.   Any night of the week there is something free to attend (at least it gives you something to shoot for!) and in between you can always walk the Old Market to exercise and still feel the vibe.

I love to be warm and I don't mind hot.

I love going out to the garden and snipping herbs to add to egg white omelettes and salads and marinades. I love grilling vegetables and fish and not caring what the recipe was.  Throwing nectarines and blueberries in a bowl and calling it a day!

I have yet to get to Jazz on the Green! (ever) but we did hit the "Leashes at Lauritzen" one beautiful Monday night with Heidi. It was fun and the dogs all  behaved as if  they were at a garden party or something--not a single bark or rude behavior. There were treat and water stations throughout.

On Father's Day we spent some time at the Aksarben Farmers's Market.

Wow- look at this snazzy washboard vest :D

Lots of artisan cheese booths

She told us about a monthly culinary "tour" of a cheese farm, bakery, brewery etc. just over the Mormon Bridge.
I just have to find the info!

Le Voltaire just opened a small french bakery and had a booth at the market--perfect Sunday morning! (gluten- free (ish)

Amy joined us for an after breakfast
 walk at Elmwood.
She said,  its not every day you get a text that says-"look for the white cowboy hat" at Jones Bros.

Easy to love summer--beet and goat cheese kale salad --coming right up!

Also, every Sunday at 12:30 (the close of the Aksarben Farmers Market) is zumba in the park. It was a blast--to fabulous latin beat. Current goal-do this as much as possible and try (for ONCE) to get to Yoga Rocks the Park. Same summertime goals as usual :D

But for now--USA soccer!!

  1. What a great summer goal! I'm bummed I missed the Leashes at Lauritzen. I have never been there. Wonder if they will do it again.

Looks like you had a great Father's Day at the Farmers Market.

I bet the kale beet salad is amazing.
