Early risers used to fish...now giggle and drool

First Minnesota vacation for Ruby! No longer are Joe and "Joe's boat" of fishermen the first up and the first out!
Ruby gets up to see the sunrise, so one of us did too! It was easy and fun to either join Nick or Nicki in the living room at 5:30-6, or let them get back to catch some z's.  By the time the rest of the cabin got up, she generally was thinking about a first nap.

good morning sunshine

a happy girl

Kayleen meets Ruby-pretty much love at first sight between them!

The day was a little overcast but the water was 80 degrees, so it was a great time to have Ruby get a dip in the lake. Nick took it nice and slow and she was clearly unsure at first. He took baby steps and suddenly she thought it was fabulous and fun! (As long as they were together) :D I am impressed with baby survival instincts!

swim diaper already slipped off

splashing the water

moving slowly in her boat

suddenly kicking and laughing!

a natural!

gotta love morning time together

the lifejackets are never ever exciting to wear. later we put a small baby pool (no water) in the boat and she played on that while we took cruises!

Torrey took a few days away from her program (she graduates in 3 weeks!) to join us. She is shown here with possibly her "first fish" or the first one she can remember! She bravely put her fingers on his teeth to smile for us!

Mitch is lucky as well and that whole week they kind of started "jumping into the boat" which is always fun!

Morning #3? waking Joey by twisting his door knob over and over and over again :D

pretty much loved playing in her pool-what a beautiful girl!

Kathy and Lou visited us on Tuesday and the "girls" took a boat ride with matching drinks and hats as it turns out!

We have had one calamity after another with the cabin recently and now have high hopes of rebuilding. If all goes well, we will tear it down in March and build a new one--right where we were. I took some "parting shots" lest our memories fade...

Kevin is going to make headboards out of the 5 doors for our new cabin!

the best laid plans.....

the dreams and hopes for tomorrow!
