I Heart Birthdays and Valentine Love

FEBRUARY
******************************
If bunnies are around, it must be my birthday!  I had a great Sunday brunch with Diane and Kathy and they each came with bunny gifts and bunny cards. So sweet!

Bunny mug and ring holder-thats what those ears are for :D

On Friday the 12th we headed to Portland and this time got there around 6 which is so much better than midnight or later!

Not sure this will play on my blog

So happy to see Ruby, Nick and Nicki that night! As always Ruby has grown! And she talks a lot--she's very very busy!!

Saturday morning they surprised me by letting me know we were headed to a French restaurant for BIRTHDAY brunch. It was a rustic French restaurant with an open kitchen you can see above. The food was fabulous! Kevin had a "60 minute" egg :D  I had a mimosa with a birthday candle :D

She's gotten good at blowing out candles :D

We shopped and bought Christin some surprise! maternity clothes, then wandered back to  grab tea at "Fly Awake PDX" --Nick had the Wizard's Brow. It was a sweet place and we got 10% off by posting to Instagram  :D

Nick and I ran off to our favorite terrarium store to put together a surprise bowl of air plants and sand and stones for nick's Valentine surprise!

Ruby at her new chalkboard wall in the kitchen. A tutu and pink chalk--gotta love that

Balancing act

Hi Ruby!! Love you :D

Nicki made strawberry cheese cake dessert--with stuffed berries,  and a graham  cracker dusting--thanks Nicki!! What a special birthday...on to Valentine's Day

I gave Ruby baby bottles and sip cups for her dolls and she knew just what to do

Clapping for such good work on puzzles!

Sunday morning we walked at the "forest" park near their house and it also has a children's playground

Off to a toy store that I loved (bought Ocean Labyrinth for the cabin!) and Ruby liked the stuffed puppy

A short stop at the library so they could get new books for the week--what a beautiful space! Ruby loves books

Such a good girl

So Nick and Nicki went out to a special Valentine dinner followed by a show at his school (fundraiser). We got to babysit! Ruby generally goes to bed at 7:00 and lets just say, we got all the way to 10:30 before those eyes shut! But we had a lot of fun and no tears :D Playing in the sink with water toys

Baking with Grandpa

We watched Sesame videos and sang a lot of Disney songs,  and finally Kevin read to her and held her sideways ("football style" ) until she dropped off to sleep.

The following day (Monday) we walked down by the river, crossing over on  the bike bridge and back on the vehicle bridge before lunch.

We grabbed lunch at a great spot near the airport and during our meal, Nick got the news that he and his co-teacher had won a national award and were headed to Austin SXSW with spouses for an all inclusive vacation week! So proud of Nick!!! and happy to be there to congratulate him

CONGRATS TO THE GREATEST TEACHER!!!

What a fun Valentine-Birthday Thanks Nicki Nicki and Ruby!!
