On the Move in Michigan

We flew in on Friday night and Joe took us directly to the new house. It's perfect! Actually similar to their old house with a fresh Cape Cod feeling and fantastic spaces--sunroom, mudroom, expansive yard and deck. I'm sold :D

Later we watched ND win at a sports bar and got to bed early for the big move.

Just make darn sure I'm coming with you!

Back it up directly to the porch guys--we have a piano to move!

It just kept filling up--we were thankful for the weather!!

Zach assisted us with the piano-man that was heavy! (so I was told)

Found Leo napping on this back door rug in the sun many times :D

Nice!

With a little love-this yard wants to shine. Its got everything-ground cover, trees, bricks, shade and sun. I love this yard.

Sunroom "before"

After the first load I went to work on the kitchen -its full of beautiful ikea type cupboards ("smart" cupboards)

Looking and smelling like home-thanks to Christin. Emily gave them the cement pears, which, along with a metal tray from Mitch and Torrey and an aluminum wrapped banana bread caused quite a stir at TSA counter. I mean, quite a stir--but it was post-Brussels so I can't blame them. He actually said "cement pears is a gift?". YES-what does he know?

Halfway through day 1

Just follow directions!

Easter Sunday! We went to 8:00 am Mass and a wonderful brunch followed by yet another trip to Home Depot.  Christin looking lovely in a champagne bridesmaid dress in front of the power tools :D We made up for it by stopping at Pottery Barn.

Ceiling paint -bedroom. They have a beadboard ceiling thats so cottage-y!

My Easter miracle--paints on pink and turns white

2nd Easter miracle--"guaranteed one coat" paint (Behr) truly covered blazing carnation pink with tranquil blue in one stroke!

New locks. Prepping sunroom walls

Thats a beautiful blue Christin!

This kitchen is awesome. The window looks into the sunroom and out to the yard

calculations for Joe's pot rack

Lots of glass door cupboards

Pottery Barn find--what a sweet rug for their bedroom

Sunny yellow sunroom will be charming with those wood floors and the blue cushions on the outdoor/indoor set they found at Home Depot

View from kitchen to sunroom

Christin couldn't stay away on Monday and helped us finish!

15 weeks --"navel orange" today!

Nesting and settling in
