Food for the Soul

February was truly "heart" month this year!
We started with Torrey's art show at The Little Gallery. A fabulous show that Torrey poured her heart and soul into! She had the walls of the gallery covered with her small and sweet and large and in charge needlepoint craft!  "Make All the Noise They Cannot Stand" is a perfect anthem against the noisy post-election debacle we've been living through.  Torrey also read from one of her 'zines and she delivered the entire show with a blend of skill, heart and wit that is truly unique and amazing!
We were thrilled for her and thrilled for ourselves as we got the chance to meet her parents, Suzanne and Kirby.

Brava Torrey!!

On to a delightful feast of love, skill and soul from Jing's mom and Dad at Emily's house. Mama cooked all day and night to produce this seafood banquet extraordinaire.

Rice flour with water, rolled into balls and simmered in sweet water for dessert

Her father showed us how he eats crab legs with chopsticks and teeth--not 3 utensils like we do!

Jing explains that dishes will come out all evening and that her Mom will be busy in the kitchen and join us afterward.

Octopus and mushroom

With equal parts skill and heart, she gave us a cross-cultural gift of gratitude and love from one family to another.

On to Galentines Day, Ladies!

Game board from Josh at Habitat---just a minor misspelling :D

Sweet treats!

Our favorite stylist, Michelle, joined us to give manicures!

Macie, Em and Maddie (art friends!)

Rylan sent along a birthday card for me-- so sweet!! (so many balloons ! :D)

Its funny, because it really was a family feud!

Excited to play

Mollie and Em explains the rules of the game :D

Thank you for a special day Emily--we all had fun!
