Dundee Revisited

Shortly after tearing down my burgundy drapes and gold sheers, I painted the entire first floor at N. 127th Street house grey and knew it was time to move on!
See Zillow pics here:

1754 N 127th

We started throwing, cleaning, clearing and organizing with zeal. We put the house on the market with Michaela's help and it never looked better! Looking back, I would have replaced all the white appliances prior to photos as that seemed to be such an important requirement in the weeks ahead.

Meanwhile we searched Dundee and had decided to place an offer on a S. 57th Street house that needed some love but had a third floor furnace Kevin didn't like.  It sold as we were drafting the offer.   Michaela put ours in as a backup offer "just in case". One stormy night we went through three houses with Michaela; classic fairy tale outcome-one was way too small, one way too large and extravagant and one was almost perfect but no AC!

Just as we dripped back into the house (hail, thunder, flooded streets!) Michaela called and asked if our backup offer still stood on S. 57th Street house? Hell yes! We'll take it!

Things got dicey with our sale, but within weeks it sold as well.

We started planning the  remodel with Jeff Pavel and focused on tearing out the kitchen. The rest is history and memorialized in these photos. We lived out of the kitchenette-laundry room and ate most meals on our lovely porch through October.

Kevin tore out the kitchen!

I started painting!

Moving day was July 8th and Nick Nicki and girls arrived on the 15th. This is going to be a good house :)
