Last weekend Beth and Kayleen Nohner hosted a Skype shower for Nick and Nicki. The theme of the day (other than conquering technology) was "N". We were invited to participate by contributing to their "nest egg" and or sending an "N" gift or a note with a "Nick" story.
The box of gifts and Jan's adorable N and N cookies were mailed to them in Columbus MT. The morning arrived and brought a foot of snow to Montana! Internet reception wasn't kind to them, so they quickly regrouped at the hospital conference room. As you can see below--it all went perfectly from there! Emily and Korey Skyped in from Phoenix.
Nick opened a nativity set from Beth Nohner, which she had inherited from Gerry Goffin. She also sent him a copy of her favorite photo of him (her godchild) which she keeps on her desk at work. She calls it her "nautical Nick". I love that photo too! They received a mini bar of sorts that were nightcaps and proceeded to add Baileys Irish Creme to their coffees :D
Grace planned the game which was taken from their wedding website stories: Our Engagment, About Us, etc. She deleted words and we created mad libs in teams and could only use "N" words. Then we read those aloud-as you can see Kayleen aptly doing below.
Emily sent Nicki a Scrabble piece necklace with N1 on a chain-very cute! It was a wonderful way for Minnesota "aunties" to celebrate and especially for Grandma Bernice and Shirley who are not able to attend the wedding.
Afterward, we were all invited back to the lake and enjoyed a wonderful salad and sandwich luncheon. Thank you Beth and Kayleen! That was fun!
